So last month I put together a piece about our highest paid player following the draft. Today, we’ll take a look at how these guys are doing so far.
QUARTERBACKS
For the QB ranks, we’ll look at the Top 5 guys mentioned last time, along with the 5 highest ranked guys after those.
Draft Rank is based on bids, high-to-low, ties go to order picked…
| Quarterbacks | Draft Rank | W4 Rank | W8 Rank | W13 Rank |
| Josh Allen | 1 | 1 | ||
| Bryce Young | n/a | 2 | ||
| Brock Purdy | 22 | 3 | ||
| Jared Goff | 2 | 4 | ||
| Dak Prescott | 11 | 5 | ||
| Joe Burrow | 3 | 6 | ||
| Patrick Mahomes | 12 | 7 | ||
| Kirk Cousins | n/a | 8 | ||
| Lamar Jackson | 4 | 9 | ||
| Drake Maye | 5 | 22 |
So far Chris is getting what he paid for… well, from his QB at least. The rest of that roster hasn’t shown up yet. And while we teased Trigger for his Goff price tag, the Lions’ QB is putting up some real numbers, not that his record is reflecting that (sound familiar?). Burrow and Jackson have both been good, but not great to this point. And despite Dave’s early season success, Drake Maye has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season thus far.
On the flip Bryce Young going undrafted is making us all look back with regret. And Purdy as the 22nd QB taken might prove out to be the steal of the year. 3-time league champ Dak Presscot is sharing that Skipper QB room, which doesn’t bode well for anyone sick of Jones winning. And the top ranks round out with the 12th QB drafted, Patrick Mahomes, who is likely the reason Drake Maye hasn’t hurt Dave too much. I guess that’s everyone worth mentioning. Certainly can’t think of anyone else. Especially not anyone who’s sitting on my bench trying to convince the kids that COVID was a hoax…
