Best Positional Coach: Kicker Edition

Just as predicted, following the Quarterback post, the thing people most cared about was, the Kicker. Much like the QB, Kicker is another position for which we have only one slot. That means only thirteen chances to make it work for you here. Based on our scoring, the kicker who produced the most points this season was Miami’s Jason Sanders, who dropped 2761 through 16 games. He slightly edged out Younghoe Koo, who finished with 2700, but a higher per game average. The problem is, no one held and started these guys for the entire season. So which manager best maximized their K roster slot?

Well, The Redbank Mallrats finished the season with Sanders on their roster – but for the regular season, they scored only 1891 at the Kicker spot. Sanders’ total through week 13 was 2168. But Kronner juggled Sanders and pre-season concencus for top Kicker Harrison Butker, leaving the Mallrats to finish in the 6 spot. That’s better however than the eventual champion Tim Bradys who finished dead last in Kicking points with a paltry 1265 points. Kyle went with Eagles kicker Jake Elliot through the first 5 weeks before making the switch to the Cardinals’ Zane Gonzales for 2 weeks. Then back to Elliot for a game, before making a change to bring in the Vikings’ Dan Bailey, followed by Greg Zuerlein, and Rodrigo Blankenship.

Let’s take a look at the final list;

1 Steve 2132
2 Matt 2055
3 Jones 2044
4 John 1946
5 Kaiser 1930
6 Kronner 1891
7 Tan 1781
8 Timmy 1760
9 Trigger 1696
10 Dave 1388
11 Jason 1349
12 Kyle 1265
Avg. Totals 1769.8

So it was The Quasars, who ended the season with Koo who finished first. Koo was drafted by the Skippers, but the dropped just weeks into the season when he hurt his hamstring. As luck would have it, Koo missed only one game and then came back with games of 231 and 316. BE A MAN HOGAN scooped him up off of FA following these two huge games, and only days later traded him to The Quasars. Prior to the trade, Steve rolled with Greg Zuerlien for the fist six games to mixed results. He also employeed Jason Myers for one game during Koo’s Bye week.

After starting the season 3-3, The Quasars finished out 5-2 following the aquisition of Younghoe Koo. Enjoy your $25 ya’ bastard.
