So I started to work up a Playoff Preview Post, but I got bored with it pretty quick. Maybe next round. As for the Wild Card, Kronner and Ryan have their first ever playoff matchup, and with only one player done thus far, its still too early to call. Meanwhile Jim is 2-0 against Matt all-time heading into this weekend, though Purdy and Kupp played as though Matt has pictures of them Second Deckin’ each other.
Instead I wanted to go back to Jon’s response following my last post, and check the validity of his claim;

I looked at the numbers, both Jon’s and mine for comparison, and he is right, last time he had the most PA, he did win the league.
Let’s look at the numbers;
| BK PF | BK PA | Finish | JJ PF | JJ PA | Finish | ||
| 2001 | 3 | 5 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 4 | |

| LAST | 1 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 3 | 0 |
So when we look at the numbers here, we see that I’ve been pretty consistently middle of the pack, with an average finish of 6th place over the course of 23 seasons. Jon has faired much better, averaging close to 4th. As for scoring, I’ve never finished first, while Jon has lead the league seven times in scoring. I have finished second 5 times, and funny enough, three of those time Jon finished just behind me. In fact, Jones has finished Top 3 in points a whopping 17 times. That’s super lucky impressive.
As for PA, which roughly equates to strength of schedule, Jones and I each have three seasons since 2001 where we faced the fewest points against. On the flip side of that, Jon was right, he did win the league the first (and only time) he faced the #1 SoS, back in 2018. I have had most PA a stupid eight times. It’s like playing with Rod Marinelli’s defensive playbook from 2008.
But it’s not just me. Look at this shit show…
| MOST PA |
| Trigger |
| Kronner |
| Kronner |
| Dave |

| Matt |
| Jason |
| Jones |
| Steve |
| Chris |

| Matt |
| Kronner |
What the fuck is up with that? What did Trigger, Ryan and I do to piss off the fantasy Gods?! Over the first 15 seasons, Kronner, Ryan and Trig had the most PA 14 times. Then it seemed like a break in the pattern from the time the Sanchez Brothers jumped in, up until 2020. After that, we’re right back with Trigger, Ryan and Kronner all adding another notch, and Matt joining the club with his second one.
| Manager | Count | Total % | Player % |
| Kronner | 8 | 33.33% | 33.33% |
| Ryan | 4 | 16.67% | 30.77% |
| Trigger | 5 | 20.83% | 20.83% |
| Jason | 1 | 4.17% | 16.67% |
| Steve | 1 | 4.17% | 12.50% |
| Matt | 2 | 8.33% | 8.33% |
| Jones | 1 | 4.17% | 4.17% |
| Chris | 1 | 4.17% | 4.17% |
| Dave | 1 | 4.17% | 4.17% |
What’s most surprising about this however, how the fuck did Timmo never finish at the bottom?
ANYHOW, as for Jones’ not griping about PA, I couldn’t find a text thread that went back that far to double check it, so I’ll have to take his word. While looking at some old message board posts, I did find this gem though;
2018 – THE JONES RULE: Jon proposed a new rule where wins only count if you score over 2000 points. Any win with fewer than 2000 points results in a loss for that week. Had it gone into effect, Trigger would have had an 0-13 season, as his best mark of the year was 1973 (in a loss to Dave).
Had that rule been in effect this year, Jon would have finished 7-7.
