2021 Best Positional Coach: Defensive Back Edition

In Josh’s return to the league following a 6-year absence, he likely noticed some things that changed around here, one of those things was not his propensity for getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs! BUT ALAS – not all is lost. He was powered to an 8-6 regular-season record, which was somehow good enough for a 3-seed thanks in no small part to the play of his DBs.

Finishing with 4,135 points from the DB slots Josh was able to secure the second highest DB total. Wait, 2nd? Yes, cause it was actually Brother Ryan, fresh off his own 5-year sabbatical, who finished dead last in the standings but was able to edge Josh out with 4,220.

Never have DBs seemingly mattered less!

Ryan’s new son; Harrison Smith.  “So proud.” – Ryan, probably

The highest scoring DB in the league this year was Kenny Moore II, who was a Buritto Warrior, and Fantasy Teammate Harrison Smith finished 5th overall. Ryan paid just $1 for each of those guys on draft night.

Team DB
1 Ryan 4220
2 Josh 4135
3 Kyle 3935
4 Kaiser 3830
5 Tan 3830
6 Steve 3820
7 Kronner 3570
8 Timmy 3500
9 Dave 3450
10 Jones 3370
11 Matt 3300
12 Trigger 3080

In what has been a rare occurrence so far with these posts, Dave was able to avoid a bottom-three finish thanks to Minkah Fitzpatrick (whom he drafted for $1) finishing 3rd among DBs.

The most expensive DB on Draft night was Budda Baker ($20 tp Jones) who was flipped shortly afterward in a deal with Chris for Darius Leonard. The most expensive duo goes to Kronner and the Mallrats who drafted Jeremy Chinn ($15) AND Jamal Adams ($14) – those two guys finished 12th and 52nd respectively among DBs. Baker finished 14th.

If you click this link, you’ll be quickly reminded why I spent $15 on Jeremy Chinn.
