Best Positional Coach: Defensive Backs Edition

So we’re getting down to the end. All that was left was DBs and TE – and with an overwhelming majority in the last poll, DBs won by a score of… 2-1. Real energized voter base here. So after these two posts, all that’ll be left is Best Draft for the payouts.Let’s get into it. The highest scoring DBs this year were Jordan Poyer (Nacho Team), Budda Baker (The Tim Bradys), Carolina rookie Jeremy Chinn (the Mallrats), and Jessie Bates III (Timmo). All four of those dudes were good for more than 2400 points this season – and SPOILER – those four teams all finished Top 5 in DB scoring. BUT, it’s always more fun to point at the loser first, so let’s start with the bottom three.

Baker dominated the first half of the year.
What’s funny about the bottom teams here is it really shows off the “feast or famine” in some spot. Our bottom three are Chris, Matt, and John, and between them we’ve already awarded five other positions (QB, WR, RB, D, LB) with John and Chris each taking two, while Matt paired his with the Coach of the Year trophy. Among the three teams though, they landed only 4 of the top 26 DBs collectively. So, who is the fifth team at the top? And who won the fucking thing? Well, let’s look at the chart.

1 Kronner 3709
2 Kyle 3700
3 Timmy 3675
4 Kaiser 3570
5 Dave 3560
6 Jason 3460
7 Trigger 3430
8 Steve 3085
9 Jones 3015
10 Tan 3000
11 John 2960
12 Matt 2655
Avg. Totals 3318.3

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! 9 POINTS IN YOUR FACE KYLE, YA BITCH!Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! So Jeremy Chinn’s 500 point game beats Kyle not once, but twice. Joining the Panthers rookie (who was a near every game staple) in the Mallrats secondary was another rookie in Antoine Winfield Jr. Additionally we saw games played by Tracy Walker, Logan Ryan, Malcolm Jenkins, Terrell Edmonds, Malcolm Butler, and Xavien Howard. It was a real rotating effort across from Chinn. Unfortunately, there was one other guy back there as well, the result of a total fleecing by Nacho Team, Mike Hilton likely cost the Mallrats at least one, if not two games after his acquisition.

The MVP of Kronner’s Team
