So as many of you will remember, this season started off with Chris waving his Juggerdong around and killing people with it. In the case of Murphy, twice. In the first five weeks, C Tan vs. The World amassed a 5-0 record, led the league in points scored, recorded the highest score of the week four times, and dropped a 3000 point game – the first in the league in 2014 (coincidentally the same year Timmy’s Sabbatical from the post-season started).

Since that time, starting with a Week 6 matchup against the Mallrats that saw him with both Russell Wilson and Alvin Kamara on BYE weeks, he has gone 1-6, to bring his season total to 6-6. Now he must beat the reigning champ QAnon in Week 13 or he will miss the playoffs and complete the worst collapse in league history.
“But wait, Kronner, is it the worst, or is that just hyperboyle?”
Well, I’m glad you asked True Believers! Here is a quick look back at the best starts since 2001, that resulted in missing the playoffs…
| YEAR | MANAGER | START | FINISH |
| 2001 | Timmy | 5-1 | 6-7 |
| 2010 | Kronner | 3-0 | 5-8 |
| 2012 | Kronner | 4-0 | 5-8 |
| 2013 | Ryan | 3-0 | 6-7 |
| 2015 | Matt | 3-0 | 5-8 |
| 2017 | Chris | 3-0 | 6-7 |
| 2020 | Chris | 5-0 | ??? |
So here we see McLeod way back in 2001 with an impressive 5-1 start, that ended up going 1-6 the rest of the way out. Now in some other years, he might have still snuck in, but back during our senior year, only the Top 4 teams made the post-season.
We then jump forward to 2010 and 2012, where Team Kronner shits the bed twice in a three-year turn. These two, coupled with Ryan’s 2013 start are especially painful considering the Top 8 made the playoffs then. Starting off with a 3-4 game lead and still finishing Bottom 4 is especially painful.
Since the 6-Team tournament started, Matt got hit in 2015 and then Chris in 2017.

But this 2020 run, it’s not only the most dominant record-wise, but the strangest part is – these were blowouts, and the change came without a major roster shakeup. For instance, if you look at Tim’s 2001 squad, his RB1 – James Stewart – got injured and missed five games, and when he came back he wasn’t the same. Additionally, Peyton Manning had his 2nd worst season (after only his rookie year) in a Colts uniform, throwing 23 picks.
In 2010, my Quarterback – Matthew Stafford – was limited to only three games, and Deandre Levy missed five games, as the Lions fucked me again. In 2015, Matt’s squad fell prey to Jordan Cameron’s concussions and Jeremy Hill’s inability to live up to his draft stock. In 2017 Chris’ first two picks were David Johnson, who went down in Week One against Detroit and missed the rest of the year, and Lamar Miller, who missed three games and didn’t look good when he did play.

Eventually, it catches up to you. So what happened in 2020? Week 6 is understandable to a degree – Russ and Kamara both out on BYEs is never going to help a team. And Aaron Jones, Cooper Kupp and JuJu have all been inconsistent this year – but in the same breath, Kamara was a steal at #8, and Wilson was highway robbery at #65. Add in Zach Cunningham and Aaron Donald with picks in the 7th and 8th rounds, and you’ve got a real solid looking team. True, Landon Collins went down, but that wasn’t till Week 9, and every team in the league has suffered a loss at least equivalent to that. And you could say that Amari Cooper was hurt by Dak’s injury (as were all the Cowboys), but Cooper has actually been the most productive of all the Dallas skill guys since that time.
This weekend will be one for the record books if Kaiser can pull out a W. A loss here makes Chris’ 2020 collapse the worst in our two-decades of play.
