Just a collection of stats and ideas, and some memes to help you pass time at work while we wait on Nevada and Georgia to get their act together…
Let’s start off by jinxing Matt and Chris…
HIGH SCORES
- If Tan’s high score (3003) holds, not only will it be the highest we’ve had since 2014, but it will be the first time he’s ever won the yearly contest.
- Matt had the highest score of Week 8. The last three teams to post the Highest Score of the Week followed it up with a loss.

Speaking of scoring, Week 8 was one of our lowest scoring weeks of the year. Here are the league’s weekly averages;
- 2020
- 2169
- 2178
- 2063
- 2072
- 1956
- 2105
- 1965
Week 8 we averaged 1965 points but saw only 4 teams break 2000. The only week with a lower average (Week 6 – 1956) was a bit skewed. If you take out Kaiser’s 1283 in Week 6, the average would have been over 2000. But if you drop the lowest score out in Week 8, the average is still under the mark.
TWO-fers
To this point in the season, all but two teams (SECOND DECK and the Dutchmen) have been involved in a rematch. For a couple of teams that’s meant some troubled waters early on. The 11th place Nacho Team has already played and lost twice to the first place Tim Bradys. Likewise, the 12th place Murphy squad lost twice to C Tan back in the weeks where he was steamrolling people. The other season sweep is a little different though. The Skippers have twice lost to BE A MAN HOGAN, despite having a better record. If not for these two games, the Jones crew would be 5-1, while BE A MAN HOGAN would be 2-4.

The other matchups have a season split; The Quasars have played a couple tight ones against the TIMMO squad – pulling out a 48 point win in Week 2, and then losing the rubber match by 112 during Rivalry Week. The Mallrats v QAnon series is also at 1-1, with QAnon sneaking out a 4-point Stat Correction Win in Week 1, before getting walloped during Rivalry Week by 395.
The Dutchmen will get their first rematch this week when they take on the Skippers, who embarrassing them back in Week 5’s Rivalry Matchup. SECOND DECK will join the fray in Week 10 when they take on QAnon in a Rematch of Week 3’s highest-scoring matchup. SD won last time 2653-2357
Also, did you guys see Mark on the news this week??
