On weeks that I have the time to do so, I’m thinking I’ll highlight a few games to keep an eye on, stuff that is important to the standings or has some interesting angle. For week three, the first matchup was the easiest.
C Tan vs. The World v. Murphy Inn-ines
After an egregious stat correction in week one, that all 12 teams in the league were understandably angry about, Chris stands alone as our only undefeated team in a sea of 1-1 mediocrity. And he hasn’t just been lucky, he put up the best score in the league each of the first two weeks. Now he faces his brother-in-law, who dropped a stinker in his week one loss to TIM!, but then came back strong and destroyed Kyle in week two. Trending Upwards (despite losing half his squad to injury)!
Another win by Chris would put him alone at 3-0, with a commanding lead in the standings, while a loss to Murphy likely still has Chris in first place, but dragged down record-wise into the mud with the rest of us.
Key Matchup: The WR corps. This game should see a ton of points scored at QB and RB, but it might come down to who has the better day with their pass-catchers.
One Game to Watch for Chris: SNF, Packers @ Saints
One Game to Watch for Jason: Raiders @ Patriots

The Flying Dutchmen v. BE A MAN HOGAN
Here is the 2-3 matchup, and what could be the best game of the week. John and Trigger are less than 200 points apart in the standings and both seem to have some high-powered teams. But can Trigger stay afloat without McCaffrey for the next month? Both of these guys picked up dudes off waivers to play at RB this week, leaving some of the shine off this game, but coupled with a big loss by CTan, the winner here could (not probable) jump into first place.
Key Matchup: The most marquee showdown within the game to the TE spots, where we’ll see Travis Kelce on MNF facing the Ravens, and Zack Ertz, along with the mash unit that is the Philadelphia Eagles facing off against Joe Burrow and the Bungles.
One Game to Watch for John: MNF, Chiefs @ Ravens
One Game to Watch for Trigger: Either of the Flordia Games

Panic! At The Alleys v. The Tim Bradys
Maybe not as prestigious as the 2-3 matchup, the 11-12 game is also important. A loss here could mean real trouble. For Dave, it means dropping to 0-3 in his most winnable game yet, and for Kyle it could be a trip to the basement of the league. The standings look like they could be tight all year, so every W is gonna count, and I have to think that both Panic and Brady are looking for an easy win here to get back on track.
Key Matchup: QB all day. These might just be at the bottom of the league, cause they’re Quarterbacks are both old enough to have babysat the Skippers whole roster. If Brees and Brady don’t show up this week, are we gonna see some movement in the starting lineup of these squads?
One Game to Watch for Dave: SNF, Packers @ Saints
One Game to Watch for Kyle: Bucs @ Broncos
