Even With No Football, The NFL Stays in the News, and Our Hearts

So I wanted to check for updates as to when we might get back to the important stuff – Fantasy Football. But most of the NFL news is for some reason not about that. Here are some updates for those who might be out of the loop…

I will NEVER forgive DeSean Jackson for fumbling on the 2-yard line during MNF with a premature celebration, on what would have been a double-dip 61-yard TD pass from McNabb, both of whom were on my team; The Army of Darkness. This contributed to the Week 2 loss to Trigger, which eventually cost me the Regular Season Title. So, given my totally reasonably dislike for the man, I wasn’t at all surprised that he was in the news for doing something else stupid. Apparently, he thinks now is a good time to attack Jewish people on Instagram and post quotes (he thinks are) from Hitler.

Annnnnd, the official response.

Jackson went on to talk to Julian Edleman and a Holocaust survivor, so he’s probably a good person now.

This was an amusing trip down memory lane – Where does DeSean Jackson’s absurd backward fumble rank on his list of all-time stupid plays?

BONUS: Next story down the page from the Jackson stuff is a headline made of pure gold…

Get it together New England…

That’s not all Jones hasn’t heard of though! How about we look at the Defensive Side of the ball!?!

DeAndre Baker and Quinton Dunbar are back in the news!

Giants corner DeAndre Baker and Seahawks corner Quinton Dunbar committed ARMED ROBBERY, and then paid off the 4 guys they robbed to say it wasn’t them (a total of about $55k in hush money), and the 4 dudes all came forward right away and ratted them out – it’s fantastic.

via The Daily News;

“I made them same n—-s that said they got robbed come in and say them Boys ain’t have nothing to Do with it,” Johnson allegedly wrote on May 16 in a series of incriminating direct messages on his Instagram account, @powerballnick_305.

Later in the same article;

Baker’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, recently claimed to have testimony from two witnesses that they never saw the Giants corner pull a gun or rob anyone.

But Johnson’s own written words in his Instagram direct messages also “corroborate a robbery had occurred and those who were charged were the participants,” the warrant summarizes.

All four victims have given sworn statements that they were paid at the office that day to recant their sworn initial statements against Dunbar by signing affidavits. Combined, the four men say they were paid a total of $55,000.

Goddamn, I miss football.
