So for this award, we are looking just at lineup decisions – not GM Roster moves or anything like that. Like Golf, lower your score the better. Here’s the formula…
- 1 Point: Lineup call that cost you 50-99 points
- 2 Points: Lineup call that cost you 100-199 points
- 3 Points: Lineup call that cost you 200-299 points
- 4 Points: Lineup call that cost you 300 or more points
- 13 Points: When a single Lineup call cost you the game
Before we get to the stats, here are some observations…
- Christopher Albert Tansuche, through the first 10 weeks made only 3 total mistakes. Unfortunately for Chris, the bad call in Week Five (Starting Frank Gore over Josh Jacobs) cost him a game against Jones. If he makes that decision differently, he’s 7-6 (perhaps taking Kaiser’s 6th playoff slot) and Jones goes 8-5 and the whole playoff would have been seeded differently.
- Chris and Matt tied for fewest Total Lineup Miscues with 9, however, neither of them finished in the Top 4 because the mistakes they made were so costly.
- The average number of Mistake Points per week is 30.6, with the fewest coming in Week 10 with 10. And the most came in Week 2 with 54.
Here’s a look at the total points…
| # | MANAGER | MISTAKE LOSSES | POINTS | 50-99 | 100-199 | 200-299 | 300+ | TOTAL MISTAKES |

| 4 | Kaiser | 26 | 4 | 9 | 1 | 14 | ||
| 5 | Chris | 1 | 26 | 3 | 5 | 9 | ||
| 6 | Trigger | 1 | 29 | 1 | 6 | 1 | 9 | |
| 7 | Jason | 30 | 8 | 8 | 2 | 18 | ||

Oh, I won! Woot Woot!

So what happened here, well, aside from my win, here are some other notes…
- This looked like a 2-horse race between the Sanchez boys until Weeks 12 & 13 when Dave went all in and snatched that last place position away from them both.
- BE A MAN HOGAN is the perfect example of a great GM overcoming sub-par coaching. Not once but twice, John made decisions that cost his team a game, yet he still made the playoffs and led the league in points scored.
- Timmy finished in 3rd place here, with a respectable 15 missteps. The problem is that not once, but twice had singular decisions that cost his team over 300 points.
- Tim and John also led the league in minor miscues – both with double digits miscues of under 100 points, dying the death of a 1000 cuts.
I wanted to go back and start backdating some awards, but the data for this no longer exists.
