Here’s a fun one that I suspect will have very little insight to W-L records, and tell us more about obsession and neuroses. The whole chart is too big to put on here, so here are some break downs…
MOVES PER MANAGER
| Manager | Total Moves | Avg. Moves |
| Jones | 1202 | 63.26 |
| John | 218 | 54.50 |
| Dave | 857 | 45.11 |
| Kronner | 831 | 43.74 |
| Timmy | 795 | 41.84 |
| Steve | 166 | 41.50 |
| Jason | 154 | 30.80 |
| Matt | 527 | 27.74 |
| Tan | 523 | 27.53 |
| Trigger | 463 | 24.37 |
| Kyle | 64 | 21.33 |
| Kaiser | 313 | 18.41 |
Observations…
- Jones hates the team he drafted?
- Kaiser likes to nap a lot?

| 2001 | 149 | 8 | 18.63 |
| 2012 | 218 | 12 | 18.17 |
Observations…
- You will see a huge increase here the year the Sanchez boys joined the league (2016), and its risen each year they’ve been active.
- 2012 being the least active year isn’t a big surprise after the chaos that ensued during the 2011 season – more on that later.
TRADES PER MANAGER
| Manager | Trades | Avg. Trades |
| Dave | 79 | 4.16 |
| Jones | 69 | 3.63 |
| Kronner | 44 | 2.32 |
| Tan | 29 | 1.53 |
| Matt | 25 | 1.32 |
| Trigger | 22 | 1.16 |

| Kaiser | 16 | 0.94 |
| Timmy | 17 | 0.89 |
| Jason | 1 | 0.20 |
| Kyle | 0 | 0.00 |
Observations…
- In the early years, Jones was the most active trader, but Dave has taken that mantle over the last decade.
- A reluctant trader, it wasn’t until 2006 that Tim completed a deal with anyone other than Jones.
TRADES BY YEAR

| 2017 | 6 | 12 | 0.50 | – |
| 2018 | 6 | 12 | 0.50 | – |
| 2019 | 7 | 12 | 0.58 | 1* |
| 2020 | – | – | – | – |
Observations…
- 198 completed trades over the course of 19 seasons, gives us an average of 10.42 per year.
- In 2011, the only year where we could trade future picks, more than half of all trades involved a pick, and the inexperience with trading them made for an odd draft in 2012 – more on that later.
- The backlash following the Pick Swaps, lead to a huge dip in the average number of trades per year – we average just shy of 14 trades a year up to that point. Since 2012, that number has fallen to 5.6 per year.
- *The lone veto in 2019 was accidental, though the teams decided not to push the trade through when given the option to do so.
TIMES VETOED
| Manager | Vetoes | Trades | Veto % |
| Matt | 3 | 25 | 12.00% |
| Jones | 5 | 69 | 7.25% |
| Kronner | 3 | 44 | 6.82% |
| Dave | 5 | 79 | 6.33% |
| Kaiser | 1 | 16 | 6.25% |
| Tan | 1 | 29 | 3.45% |
Observations…
- Aside from the accidental Veto in 2019, we haven’t had a legitimate trade denial since 2011.
- All of Jones’ vetoes came in the very early years, perhaps – as Dave put it – it’s his Super Villain Origin, and explains why he’s become so jaded, trying and failing time and again to stop all trades not involving himself.
- Other teams that were part of Vetoed Trades were Byrd (3), Josh (2), and Toepel (1).
I’ll do a post about the 2011-2012 stuff soon, if you guys are interested.
